Research-Based Graduate Training in Computational Data Science and Food Security

IS4Good is a new NSF-funded graduate training program designed to equip students to tackle complex, data-intensive problems in hunger relief and food security. The training is tightly woven with our research objective to provide data-driven models that inform and transform strategies for the provision of food aid at the local, state, and federal level through:

  • Information Sharing;
  • Informed Seeing;
  • Intelligent Solving.

Program Features

  • One year training program
  • Broad training in data science, hunger relief supply chains, and socio-economic perspectives of food aid
  • Open to Masters or PhD students in STEM disciplines
  • Interact with broad range of faculty, STEM students, and industry partners
  • Research-based internship with academic or industry partners
  • Financial support for professional certification exam in data science
